▦ University /College /VET/TAFE may conduct interview prior to confirmation of admission.
▦ February and July are main intakes, some Universities /Institutes also October intake. It is advisable to apply at least 5-6 months prior to intake.
There are two streams for visa application to Australia.
▦ General student visa application under assessment level 3.
▦ SSVF – Simplify Student Visa Framework under assessment level 1.
SSVF gives students freedom to apply with lesser requirements making it easy, convenient and quick for students.
While in general stream under assessment level 3, more number of documents with greater precision is required. The process time for SSVF is quicker compared to general application. Assessment level 1 assumes student to be of low risk while Assessment level 3 assumes student to be of high risk

▦ All documents listed have to be in English, Confirmation of Enrolment letter from university/institute. Receipt of tuition fees.
▦ All academic documents including transcripts, mark sheets and Degree certificate Letter of Recommendation.
▦ IELTS score sheet.
▦ Evidence of finance – Bank statements, fixed deposits, Education loan etc.
▦ Medical and Police Clearance Certificate.
▦ Health Insurance (OHSC). OSHC is Overseas Student Health Cover. It is a medical and health insurance which is mandatory.
▦ Evidence of regular income and proof for the same for applicant or sponsor as per the case.
▦ All pages of Passport.
▦ Work experience letter (If applicable)
Application processed under SSVF takes much less time as compared to regular application. For SSVF, it takes 20 to 25 days and for general usually 6-8 weeks
In case of programs at master’s level or above, student dependent can accompany. They are permitted to work full time in Australia.
On completion of studies students can apply for Post study Work stream visa. Mostly there is no interview but high commission can request one any time.
